Kardashian starred in the 2008 film Disaster Movie as Lisa, alongside Carmen Electra and Vanessa Minnillo. The film, which spoofed disaster films, received negative reviews and had mild success at the box office. At the end of December 2008, after its DVD release, the movie was rated the second worst film ever made at the Internet Movie Database. Kardashian also appeared in an episode of How I Met Your Mother entitled "Benefits".

Cyrus is better known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.Following the success of the show, in October 2006, a soundtrack CD was released in which she sang eight songs from the show. She is currently preparing for her role in The Perfect Sleep, a neo-noir drama, where she is co-starring with Patrick Bauchau, Tony Amendola, Isaac Singleton, and Peter Lucas.
